The windy city of Chicago will host the 33rd Arlington Million on Saturday. This year’s card came up competitive in the major stakes races and an annual summer tradition in Chicago.
Arlington Million 2015
Big Blue Kitten has come back with a big with a pair of dominating win in the last starts. Defeating the a large field of horses at the shore in the United Nations. The Manhatten was dominated by Slumber. Those 2 care hard to separate at this point. Slumber woke up when blinkers were added. Both horses having big campaigns at the age of 7 and should run very well on Saturday. Slumber has quicker move to contention and Big Blue Kitten has ability to carry his kick longer.
Wake Forest is an interesting German bred who should “Run All Day” has group 1 experience and is a win machine 6 wins 10 starts and first lasix. Should have the class and might be able to position himself to be near the leaders on the turn.
Legendary ran a strong race in the Manhatten but is 0/3 in 2015 and lost 4 in a row. Form is better than looks on paper but 10 furlongs is not his ideal distance.
The Pizza Man is everyone’s favorite horse on social media and while he looks outclassed, he comes in with good form and picked up a win in his most recent race. Local connections have been pointing for this race since last year’s win in the St. Leger. Logical spot and the Pizza Man should “Deliver” his usual strong effort, but probably unlikely to win in this spot.
The Choice:
The Big German Wake Forest should like the distance and may be able to prove the upset. Big Blue Kitten is a must use on all tickets based on most recent win in New Jersey.
The Beverly D 2015
Euro Charline comes in as the defending champion in this race. Last year she ran well, but got the dream trip up the rail. I think she is vulnerable in this spot and likely an underlay.
Lacy is a Big German bred who comes in with 4 victories in 9 starts and gets lasix. Proven Graded form and ships in for a big run at the money.
Whatsdachances impressed with a big run in the Dance Smartly Stakes at Woodbine. Picked up a win at Pimlico earlier this year and seems to be in top form. Goes up in class but now is the time to strike. Jersey Joe Bravo rides.
Stephanies Kitten is capable of winning but recent form has been in and out and is consistently over-bet. Her closing style should get a pace to run at. Doesn’t seem to have big finishing kick that she had in the past.
The Choice:
Whatsdachances has sharp recent form and 10/1 odds seem fair in a race like this. Slight chance to upset the Euro’s and Germans at a price in this race.
